About

Lori Montgomery, MSW, RSW,
Social Worker
Psychotherapist

I am a Registered Social Worker with a master’s degree in social work from the University of Toronto.  I bring to my practice this education and over 20 years of working in various roles to support people in times of crisis, conflict, and distress.  My professional training is complemented by my own lived experiences, which enrich my understanding of the challenges many individuals face.

At the heart of my practice lies a focus on helping you access your inner strength. I believe that healing is not just about managing symptoms, but about building a compassionate relationship with yourself. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your emotions, uncover the roots of your struggles, and develop effective coping strategies.

I embrace a conversational approach that fosters a warm and engaging environment, where humor can beautifully coexist with the profound emotional work we undertake together. I genuinely respect the unique journey each client brings and feel deeply humbled to support them, whether in the short term or throughout a longer process of healing. My goal is to instill hope in times of hopelessness, creating a safe space that encourages openness and growth as we navigate the complexities of life together.

I understand that financial concerns can be a barrier to accessing mental health services.  I offer sliding scale options. If you worry that finances are a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

About Willow Tree

Why Willow Tree? Willow tree represents to me a symbol of both strength and flexibility. Limber and supple, the willow bends to withstand strong winds in adverse times. A willow can be cut back and regrow with vigour, representative of human capacity to withstand hardship, loss, and difficult emotions. Willow is a symbol of survival and rebirth.
